On Saturday September 15th 2018, Philipsburg SDA church celebrated Pathfinders Day with a difference. Pioneer Pathfinders collaborated with The Health Ministry from the church and the American University of the Caribbean (AUC), in assisting 100+ people in the community with free health checks. 59 medical students and 4 doctors were on hand to administer this kind gesture and initiative. Pathfinders started the day with a flag raising ceremony at sunrise followed by a free breakfast catering to 150 people. Students arrived at 9am and went right to work testing for cholesterol, glucose, vision, weight, HIV status Hight blood pressure and a visit to one of the 4 doctors. Lunch proceeded catering to 250 people in the community. Pathfinders played a major role in assisting the students and also taking part in their program which was held in the church. The day’s program ended around 5pm leaving many satisfied citizens with great results. The leaders of the church would like to thank the AUC for a fantastic and professional job, and is looking forward to working with them soon.
